Amazon Prime Day returns in July in Canada amid U.S. trade war

In a year marked by uncertainty, Amazon has been our guiding light. First, it sent Katy Perry to space, and now it’s bringing back its mega summer time shopping event, Prime Day.
So far, the retail giant hasn’t shared the exact day that the deals will begin, but last year it was July 16 and 17. Amazon said last year there were record-breaking sales on Prime Day, so I expect the company will try to sell even more items this summer.
While it’s still more than two months away, now is a good time to start price tracking any items you might want to buy. Amazon and other large retailers like Best Buy have a history of shifting prices around to make the deals look better than they might be. We’ve also got a guide full of other online shopping tips if you want to prepare.
There was also a report recently that said Amazon is planning to add the cost of the tariffs as a separate price on its website so it doesn’t have to take the blame for the rising cost of some goods. It’s unclear if this change will happen and if it will extend to Amazon websites outside of the U.S.
